Every mother deserves to be seen. Every life matters.

I remember sitting in the waiting room. It was my last appointment before I was due to give birth to my son. All I kept thinking about was what I was missing for him, and how I was going to leave the hospital with my baby and nothing prepared. 

I had a few things I had gotten from friends. But I did not feel like I had what he needed. Nothing that felt like a fresh start.

When my doctor walked into my appointment and handed me the Blessing Bag, I cried.

There was a brand-new outfit and a soft blanket just for my baby.  For the first time, I felt ready.

 I felt like I could do this. We could do this. We would walk out of that hospital with dignity and joy.

💛 That moment meant everything to me.

I had my daughter after leaving an abusive relationship. I felt alone and scared stepping into motherhood and unsure of what our future would look like. I received my Blessing Bag at my last doctor's appointment through the pregnancy center. 

Every item was thoughtful and meaningful to me. Inside the bag was a Bible and a devotional. At first, I didn’t think much about it. But started reading it during quiet moments while my daughter slept.

It gave me peace. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone and that there was purpose in what I was going through.

I have since given my life to Christ and was baptized. I no longer worry or an unsure of our future. Receiving that Bible when I had my daughter changed my life.

💛 It gave me strength in a season I didn’t think I would make it through.

 Everything in the bag was new. That may seem small to some people, but to me, it meant everything.

So much of what I had been given before was used, worn, or just whatever someone could spare. And I was grateful, but deep down, it still made me feel like I was getting what others didn't want anymore.

When I opened the Blessing Bag, it felt different.

The items were clean, new, and thoughtfully chosen. The outfit, the blanket, the little details. It felt like it was meant for my baby, not just something passed along.

In that moment, I didn’t feel overlooked.
I didn’t feel like I was struggling.

I felt valued. I felt cared for.

It reminded me that my baby deserved a beautiful start, and that I did too.
